Promoting or Demoting Thrips

The name “thrips” refers to a family of tiny insects. The word is both singular and plural; somewhat like “moose”.

Gardeners, orchard owners and farmers all care about the thrips, because some of them damage crops, fruit or fruit trees.

Other thrips are harmless or beneficial.  Not every thrips is an insect pest deserving of insecticide applied by a professional exterminator!
