The Grand Parade of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival 2013 runs from 9 or 10am to 6pm on Saturday August 3. So “jump up” a couple days before Simcoe Day; John Graves won’t mind.

The parade route for the 2013 Toronto Caribbean Carnival starts from Exhbition Place (the CNE), then west along Lake Shore Blvd West. You can watch for free as the mas bands march on Lake Shore from Newfoundland Road west past Ontario Place up to British Columbia Drive. I’ve been on the Martin Goodman Trail to watch the parade. You could pay to watch the 2013 Toronto Caribbean Carnival parade from inside the CNE grounds.

Don’t even think about driving to get there. I’d take the 511 Bathurst streetcar south from the Bloor subway line, or the 509 Harbourfront streetcar from Union Station on the Yonge line.

As the official site says: be prepared for sunshine! That means baseball caps, sunglasses and sunscreen. (And carry some water. Even if you buy food and drinks from the vendors, it can be a long time in line).
