Two North Toronto Canadian Thanksgiving Events in 2012

People who prefer to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving 2012 in north Toronto have at least two choices. This week I’d already highlighted two downtown events in “2 Free Events for Thanksgiving 2012 on Queen’s Quay in Toronto“, so it’s time to provide options for autumn Toronto events in our northern regions.

The Gibson House museum’s theme this Thanksgiving is “Harvest”. Learn how Canadian pioneers prepared and cooked their foods after the autumn harvest, in the Gibson farmhouse kitchen.

Children are invited to participate. The museum lends period costumes, assigns kitchen tasks, and provides other learning activities.

Gibson House, operated by the City of Toronto, will be open Oct. 6-8, 2012 from noon to 5pm for this special 2012 Canadian Thanksgiving program.

Located at 5172 Yonge St., Gibson House is just north of Mel Lastman Square and the North York Centre in Toronto. Gibson House is easily accessed from the Yonge subway line. Regular adult admission is well under $10.

Here’s a sneak preview of a future Gibson House event: a “Kimchi and Pickle Workshop” on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 1pm to 3:30.
