What is the EGO Art Exhibition?

The “EGO” juried art exhibition is an annual project by Scarborough Arts. This year, almost four dozen artists exhibit their works in Toronto’s Papermill Gallery, part of the Todmorden Mills heritage site.

The exhibition began August 1st, and was mentioned in my previous article, “The Ontario Civic Holiday: 2012 Simcoe Day Events in Toronto“. Since some readers may have been busy with the Caribbean Festival over the Simcoe Day weekend, I thought it worthwhile to remind you that “EGO” will continues through August 12.

Scarborough Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to arts in this eastern borough of Toronto, Ontario.

Where is the Todmorden Mills Papermill Art Gallery?

I made the above map, and wrote detailed directions to Todmorden Mills for a previous article (“Dream of Shakespeare at Todmorden Mills, Toronto, in July 2012“). In brief: the Papermill Gallery is part of the Todmorden Mills heritage site on Pottery Road in Toronto. Pottery Road connects Broadview Avenue and Bayview Avenue by descending into the Don Valley. The DVP (Don Valley Parkway) does not exit onto Pottery Road.

I’ve updated that article to include TTC directions, for those who enjoy a steep climb after viewing an art exhibition.

When to View the EGO Art Exhibition at the Papermill Gallery?

At the moment, I assume that the Papermill Gallery’s regular hours of operation apply. According to the City of Toronto’s web page for the Todmorden Mills site, the Papermill Theatre and Gallery is open 10-4:30 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10-7:30 on Wednesday; and noon to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. This implies they are closed on Mondays.

Other Current Exhibits in Toronto Art Galleries during August 2012
