The dates and venues for the 2012 Unity Festival in Toronto are as follows.

  1. On July 12, the “Beatboxing Competition” will be held in the Wreck Room at 794 Bathurst Street for $10-15.
  2. On July 13, the “Breakdancing and All Styles” event occurs in the FountainBlu Room in the CNE at 200 Princes’ Boulevard for $15-20.

  4. On July 15, the “Spoken Word Poetry Slam” takes place in the Young People’s Theatre at 165 Front Street East, for $10-15.

The lower price is for advance tickets; the higher price is at the door.

The headline beatbox performer will be Reeps One. Dominique Ashaheed is the leading poet at Young People’s Theatre on Sunday.

They, along with dozens more, will perform on Saturday at Yonge-Dundas Square.

It seems that the Thursday event, which does require tickets, will determine who is the best beatboxer in Toronto.

Why is Rocco Rossi’s 2010 Picture with this Article about Toronto’s 2012 Unity Festival?

I included Mr. Rossi’s photograph because it was explicitly about the Unity Festival at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto. Mr. Rossi has posted a large number of images of himself at various events, and kindly made them available under a Creative Commons “commercial re-use” license.

Other aspiring and elected politicians might do well to follow his lead.
